Agencies charge $15,000–$40,000 per GP placement and 15% commission on every locum shift. These courses teach you the same recruitment framework — so you can attract and retain GPs directly.

Why Heart Bridge Health Academy

Built by an expert in sales communication with a decade of recruitment experience.

Jade Gulliver spent nearly a decade placing GPs into clinics across Australia's most competitive markets — metro, regional and remote. Before that, she spent four years living in China, arriving at 20 years old, alone, before smartphones, and without speaking the language. Teaching English there didn't just build resilience — it taught the finer elements of communication when words alone aren't enough.

Ethically communicating your value proposition to someone who will genuinely find value in your offer is a skill — and Jade has developed it over 20 years. Her training includes Mary Gober International sales methodology, Swish Sales Coaching, The Lens Program with body language expert Scott Taylor covering sales psychology and non-verbal communication, and in-person Control the Conversation training with James Pile — an actively retired U.S. Army interrogator, interrogator trainer, author and communication consultant.

These courses aren't theory. They're the exact frameworks, scripts and negotiation strategies that agencies charge thousands for — distilled into practical, self-paced modules you can apply immediately.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about GP recruitment & our courses

Can I recruit a GP without using an agency?

Yes. Most clinics can connect with GPs directly once they understand their competitive position — DPA status, Modified Monash classification and available incentives — and how to build a strong offer. Heart Bridge Health is a marketplace where clinics and GPs connect directly, and our courses teach the groundwork so you can do it yourself.

What is the difference between the EAP, PEP, FSP and AGPT pathways?

EAP (Expedited AHPRA Pathway) is for UK, Ireland and New Zealand GPs. PEP (Practice Experience Program) supports other IMGs on its Specialist or PC stream. FSP (Fellowship Support Program) is a self-funded pathway for IMGs who hold general registration and work at MM2+ locations. AGPT (Australian General Practice Training) is the standard training program for doctors pursuing RACGP or ACRRM fellowship. Each differs on eligibility, supervision and timelines — our pathway courses break down which one applies.

How can an internationally trained GP work in Australia?

An internationally trained GP (IMG) generally needs AHPRA registration, a recognised pathway to fellowship (EAP, PEP or FSP), and — in most cases — a position at a Distribution Priority Area (DPA) location so they can bill Medicare under the 19AB moratorium. Our IMG pathway courses walk clinics and doctors through each step, the paperwork and the timelines.

What is a DPA, and why does it matter?

A DPA (Distribution Priority Area) is an address-specific classification that determines whether an overseas-trained doctor can bill Medicare at your clinic under the 19AB moratorium. If your clinic is a DPA, you can connect with a much larger pool of IMG doctors. You can check your status on the Health Workforce Locator.

What billing split do GPs usually get in Australia?

GP billing splits in Australia commonly sit between 60% and 70% of billings, though this varies widely. Vocationally registered (VR) GPs tend to command higher splits because they attract higher Medicare rebates, and rural or remote clinics often offer more to attract doctors. The right split depends on location, the support a clinic provides and what else is in the package.

How much do GP recruitment agencies charge in Australia?

GP recruitment agencies in Australia typically charge in the order of $15,000–$40,000 per permanent placement, plus a commission on locum shifts. Heart Bridge Health is a direct marketplace, not an agency — clinics and GPs connect with each other directly, with no per-placement fee. Our courses teach clinics the groundwork so they can find the right GP themselves.

Who are these courses for?

Clinic owners, practice managers and operations leads who want to connect with and retain GPs directly — plus GPs and IMGs who want to understand pathways, billing splits and contract terms before they sign.
